Executive Chef

Visitors to Wallingford can enjoy in-house catering of an exceptional standard. From a lovely home-cooked meal to a formal banquet fit for royalty, dining at Wallingford is a pleasure.

Your Executive Chef Charlotte Robinson is from England, where she served a time as private function chef for the United Kingdom Cabinet.

Charlotte has received the New Zealand Beef & Lamb Excellence Award every year since 2008, and she excels at cooking New Zealand grown meat and produce.

Charlotte’s latest menu can be viewed by scrolling further down the page.

For the connoisseur, we would be excited to adapt a menu to your flavours. Charlotte has a wealth of experience to bring to the table, and would be excited to speak to you and plan your menus.

If you have specific food requirements, we can cater for them at a Cordon Bleu standard.

We bring a wealth of experience to fine dining at Wallingford, so please don’t hesitate to contact Jen & Charlotte about personalizing your menu.

Wine Tasting

Hawkes Bay is home to many accomplished wines, and you can taste them in the formal surrounds of the drawing room, or the relaxed setting of our pool pavilion.

The house wine at Wallingford wine is supplied exclusively by Ngatarawa Winery. Ngatarawa grow on the Gimlett Gravels, an area in Hawkes Bay that is now world-renowned for producing exemplary wines.

The sophistication of our region’s viticulture is acknowledged globally, with Hawkes Bay wines matching Bordeaux wines in blind tastings held in France. This is particularly true for those from the Gimlet Gravels growing area, which includes Vidal Estate, Villa Maria Estate, Cornerstone, Mission Estate, Craggy Range, Pask Winery, Trinity Hill, and Ngatarawa Estate among others.

Why not try Hawkes Bay’s famous Syrah vintages, our experimental dessert wines, or one of our many Savignon Blancs with your evening meal?

Wallingford has excellent relationships with local wine experts, and we can arrange for sommeliers to come in and make your afternoon a delight of flavour and education.

Learn how to match Hawkes Bay wines with food, increase your wine vocabulary, or simply have a fun gathering with friends. Talk to us today to set up your wine tasting party.
